Biographical Info The name PECO Studio is a tongue-in-cheek nod to my grandfather’s old company, Precision Engineering Co. It seemed appropriate since my art is anything but precision. I started with pottery under the tutelage of Mel Sundby (the greatest man on earth). As we sat at the wheel he taught me a lot about life, with some pottery mixed in. I thoroughly enjoyed every chance we got to sit around a warm raku kiln on a cool fall day, beer in hand like all great philosophers. In 2019 it was time for a change, and this Wisconsin boy moved to Hawai‘i. Unfortunately, I couldn’t take the wheel and kiln with me, so I was in limbo creatively. In 2020 when we all found ourselves with a little more time on our hands, glass piqued my interest. I found Rachel Baker, who was kind enough to take me on as an apprentice. I was hooked. A few years later, Wisconsin called me back home. I continue to be excited, challenged, mesmerized and occasionally physically harmed by this amazing material.
