Biographical Info Kathleen Walter…Artist Bio From my earliest memories I have been fascinated by the natural world around me. I had many collections of insects, rocks, stones and feathers that I examined and drew. I still have collections of these things and they become the assemblages that I create to tell my stories. I received my BA in Art Education at UW-Milwaukee and a Masters in Integrated Arts Education at Alverno College. I worked as an art teacher for 35 years in public schools and then as an adjunct instructor at the college level for 8 years. In both of these teaching situations I shared my curiosity for nature and desire to communicate through art with my students. I lived for the 40 years on a 10-acre farm outside of Slinger, Wi where I had endless opportunities to continue exploring and discovering the marvels in nature and the intersections and collisions between nature and humankind. I have recently moved to a home on Madison’s West side where I have found many natural areas to continue my explorations.
