Kelly Darrah
Biographical Info
Kelly was born in Janesville, WI and currently lives in Racine, WI. She received an art and library education from universities in Wisconsin including UWM and UWSP. Milwaukee and Stevens Point are two of the Wisconsin communities in which she has resided. Each place we go and the things that we do can influence our ideas and ultimately our art making. Since March of 2024, Kelly has been regularly posting her work on Instagram: @floweringarts1. During 2024, she participated in a few plein air events and taught art classes at the Cedarburg Cultural Center and Racine Art Museum. She works in a few roles at the Racine Art Museum and has started volunteering for Arts of Life. During the spring of 2025, Kelly has shown work at the Core Art Space, Antioch Fine Arts Association, Racine Art Museum and continues to grow her work in painting, mosaic making and art education. Kelly’s work is influenced by the world that she experiences because she feels that art is an integral part of the human experience. She is both a painter and a mosaic artist. She participates in plein air events because painting from life is the best way to see. She makes mosaics because it is therapeutic to see work come together piece by piece. She teaches because she wants to share her joy for visual art with others.
