Vic’s creative journey started as a result of the Covid-19 Pandemic. As the pandemic grew so did the amount of online shopping. The result was a huge increase in shipping boxes being discarded and thrown away on recycling day. Instead of watching all this cardboard go to trash he decided to create art with it. Vic views his creative process with corrugated cardboard in the same way an artist would approach painting a painting.

Starting with a blank canvas, it is important to build layer upon layer to establish the illusion of space and distance. All of Vic’s artwork is created using recycled or discarded carboard. Due to the monochromatic nature of the medium, the challenge with his subject matter is to create the effect of depth and dimension within each individual object. This is accomplished in various ways utilizing multiple layers within each figure or object to create shadow and proportion.

His work has been featured in newspapers and morning TV news shows. Two of his works of art are currently on display in the Wisconsin’s Governor’s Mansion . He will continue to explore and push the boundaries of cardboard as an art medium by creating “Cardboard Paintings” that are both visually compelling and grab the viewer’s attention
