Biographical Info

My subject matter comes mainly from the strong women around me whom I admire. My female students often inspire works that present women who are very feminine in their attire, but who wield power over materials or elements.
My love for metal casting started in my Sculpture 1 class at UW-Oshkosh in 1997. After graduating with a Drawing, Painting, and Sculpture degree, I moved to Florence, Italy to study for a short time. When I returned, I enrolled in UW-Milwaukee’s graduate program in Sculpture and continued casting metal. Since then, I’ve participated in several artist residencies including two in Italy and one in India, have shown my worked locally, regionally, nationally, and internationally and have conducted iron and aluminum pours all over Wisconsin. I taught Sculpture at UW-Oshkosh from 2007-2012 and UW-Whitewater from 2012-2025. My studio is in Chilton, WI where I have a small foundry and have hosted metal pours attended by artists from all over the United States.
After 25 years, I’ve recently returned to painting by way of collage and acrylics, media that I’ve never used before. I’m exploring the same subject matter but with found imagery, cast off materials, and plastic paint. As of now, I’m just enjoying the journey!
