Michael Harper

My inspiration is fueled by vibrant sunsets, the ever-changing movement of water and clouds, the beauty of the human form. Working with oil and acrylic, often combining abstraction with realism.

While I aspired to be an artist in my youth, I earned a degree in Communications and Philosophy and went to build a consulting career in leadership development and executive coaching. During my business career, I had the unique opportunity to visit galleries and museums on three continents, feeding a lifelong interest in the visual arts.

After retiring in 2019, I started sculpting, took a half dozen workshops at the Peninsula School of Art in Door County, Wisconsin and began painting in 2021.

My work has appeared at the Hardy Gallery Invitational, Wood Walk Gallery, Peninsula School of Art and Chez Cheryl Gallery Portraiture Competition.

I’m represented by Wood Walk Gallery, Egg Harbor, Wisconsin

In 2022, I joined the Board of the Hardy Gallery and currently serve as its President.
