Thomas Geis

Tom Geis is a self-taught abstract painter living in Madison, Wisconsin who works primarily with acrylics. The mood of his paintings ranges from the quiet and contemplative to the bold and immediate. As a retired software engineer, Tom has developed numerous complex projects from inception to a highly functional finished product. He has used this technical approach in his artwork to create paintings that have won awards and enabled him to participate in group and solo exhibitions, including two awards from the City of Madison Arts Commission, Best In Show at the 2025 Abstraction exhibit at Fine Line Gallery in St. Charles, Illinois, group exhibitions at Overt Gallery in Stoughton, Wisconsin and the Pyle Center at the University of Wisconsin – Madison, and a solo exhibition at the Diane Endres Ballweg Gallery in Madison. In addition, Tom has also exhibited his work at over 20 juried art fairs in Wisconsin and Illinois.
